Practice: Create a Null Job

Objective

To successfully create a NULL job.

Instructions

Create the Schedule

  1. In Library > Administration, select Master Schedule.
  2. Click Add button.
  3. On the Master Schedule Definition screen:
  • In the Schedule Name field, enter Null Schedule.
  • Add Documentation
  • Monday - Sunday are working days.
  • Do NOT use the Master Holiday Calendar.
  • Auto Build 7 days in advance for 1 days.
  • Auto Delete 7 days ago.

Create the Job

  1. In Studio, select Null Job Schedule and click View.
  2. In the side menu, select Add Job.
  3. In the Master Job Definition screen:
  • In the Name field, enter Null Job.
  1. Leave the Job Type as Null Job.
  2. Click the Save button.
  3. Click the Lock button in the upper right-hand corner.
  4. Expand the Documentation section, and add documentation.
  • Example: This is a Null Job exercise.
  1. In the Frequency section, create or add the desired Frequency.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Close Library.

Build the Schedule

  1. In Operations, build the Schedule Released for today.
  2. Be sure the Null Job is Completed.
