Exercise 7: Create Additional Calendars & Update Master Holiday Calendar
Objective
To update the Master Holiday Calendar and create a separate calendar with customized dates.
Summary
Update the Master Holiday Calendar so the following dates are marked as holidays:
- Wednesday, January 1st - New Years Day
 - Monday, January 20th – Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Observed)
 - Monday, February 17th – President’s Day
 - Monday, May 26th – Memorial Day
 - Thursday, June 19th - Juneteenth National Independence Day
 - Friday, July 4th – Independence Day
 - Monday, September 1st – Labor Day
 - Monday, October 13th – Columbus Day
 - Tuesday, November 11th – Veterans Day
 - Thursday, November 27th – Thanksgiving Day
 - Thursday, December 25th - Christmas Day
 
You will also create a new calendar called My First Calendar and select several dates of your choosing.
Instructions
- In Library > Administration , select Calendars.
 
Update the Master Holiday Calendar
- Select Master Holiday from the list of Calendars.
 - Click Edit.
 - In the Calendar Settings, select the dates listed in the Summary section above.
 - Click Save.
 
Creating the Custom Calendar
- Above the Calendar list, click Add.
 - In the Name field, type My First Calendar.
 - Enter in a Description for this new calendar.
 
- Example: This is a test Calendar.
 
- In the Calendar Settings section, select several dates of your choosing from the calendar.
 - Click Save.
 - Close Library.
 
Enterprise Manager
Details
- Click on Calendars from the Navigation Panel.
 - Click the Add Button.
 - Type MyFirstCalendar in the Name field.
 - Enter Documentation like: This is a test Calendar.
 - Click the Save Button.
 - Click several dates in the Calendar.note
The dates are saved dynamically
 - Click the right arrow by the Month right above the Calendar to go to the next months.
 - Click the up arrow by the Year right above the Calendar to move to the next year.
 - Select Master Holiday from the Calendar List.
 - Click the following dates in the Calendar to set up the current year Federal Holidays, then close the Calendars tab:
 
- Monday, January 1st - New Years Day
 - Monday, January 15th – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
 - Monday, February 19th – President’s Day
 - Monday, May 27th – Memorial Day
