Setting Preferences for Charts

Close and re-open the charts to refer to the change in this section take effect.

To set the preferences:

  1. Launch the Enterprise Manager application.
  2. Use menu path: EnterpriseManager > Preferences. The Preferences dialog displays.
  3. Click on the arrow (Expand Arrow     ) next to Enterprise Manager in the Preferences tree to expand the drop-down list.
  4. Click on Charts to show options pertaining to Chart Preferences. The Charts settings display to the right.
  5. (Optional) Select the Show Legend checkbox to show the legend on the charts. (It is checked by default.)
  6. (Optional) Select the Use Transparency checkbox to show the charts with transparency.
  7. (Optional) Select the Use Depth checkbox to show 3-D charts.
  8. (Optional) Select the Beep and Notify for failed jobs checkbox to cause the EM to send notification and beep three times when a job fails in the chart view (it is checked by default).
  9. Click Apply to save the changes in this window.
  10. Click on the arrow (Expand) next to Charts in the Preferences tree to expand the drop-down list.
  11. Click on Bar Chart in the Preferences tree. The Bar Chart settings display to the right.
  12. (Optional) Select the Oldest date on top checkbox to show the oldest date at the top of the chart instead of the newest date at the top of the chart when viewing all dates.
  13. (Optional) Select the Tube checkbox to show tubes instead of rectangles. (It is selected by default.)
  14. (Optional) Select the Transposed checkbox to view the bars in a horizontal arrangement. (It is checked by default.) Unselect the checkbox to view the bars in a vertical arrangement.
  15. (Optional) Set the value in the Minimum height before scroll (pixels) text box (default is set to 500 pixels). Valid values are between 100 and 5000.
  16. (Optional) Set the value in the Minimum width (pixels) text box (default is set to16 pixels). Valid values are between 8 and 90.
  17. Click Apply (if any changes were made).
  18. Click on Pie Chart in the Preferences tree. The Pie Chart settings display to the right.
  19. (Optional) Set the value in the Space between slices (pixels) text box (default setting is 10). Valid values are between 0 and 50.
  20. (Optional) Set the value in the Minimum width before scroll (pixels) text box (default setting is 150).
  21. (Optional) Set the value in the Minimum height before scroll (pixels) text box(default setting is 150).
  22. (Optional) Clear the Show labels checkbox to remove the labels relating to the number of jobs for each section of the pie.
  23. (Optional) Set the value in the Ratio text box (default setting is 10).
  24. (Optional) Set the value in the Rotation text box (default setting is 0).
  25. Click Apply (if any changes were made).
  26. Click on Workload Chart in the Preferences tree. The Workload Chart settings display to the right.
  27. (Optional) Click the Show labels checkbox to display the labels on the Workload Chart. (It is checked by default.)
  28. (Optional) Set the value in the Minimum width before scroll (pixels) text box (default setting is 200).
  29. (Optional) Set the value in the Minimum height before scroll (pixels) text box (default setting is 200).
  30. (Optional) Set the value in the End value for Alert zone (%) text box (default setting is 150).
  31. (Optional) Set the value in the End value for Warning zone (%) text box (default setting is 200).
  32. Click Apply to save the changes in this dialog.
  33. Click OK to save the changes and close the Preferences dialog.
