Reference overview

What is it?​

The Reference section consolidates technical reference material you turn to when you need a specific lookup — security resource lists, file-transfer JCL, the DJF language, TLS setup notes, FAQs, and known issues.

In this section​

  • SAF resources — consolidated reference for the SAF resource checks the agent performs (SURROGAT, FACILITY, DATASET, EXTRACT).
  • Multiple agents — guidance for running more than one z/OS Agent instance on the same z/OS system.
  • Standalone file transfer — run the SMAFT agent as a standalone job step, including JCL and keyword reference.
  • Dynamic JCL Facility — DJF variable substitution, conditional statements, and statement syntax.
  • Translation tables — how the SMAFT server and agent locate translation datasets on z/OS.
  • TLS — enable TLS communications for the z/OS Agent and JORS through IBM AT-TLS policies.
  • FAQs — frequently asked questions, focused on JCL Error troubleshooting and z/OS exit diagnostics.
