Deleting Departments

If the need arises to delete a department, there are several required procedures.

To delete a department:

Revoke privileges

  1. Double-click on Departmental Function Privileges under the Security topic. The Departmental Function Privileges screen displays.
  2. Select a role in the Select Role drop-down list. Alternatively, you can use the Find ((Ctrl+F) magnifying glass) button to find the role.
  3. Select a department in the Departments drop-down list.
  4. Select all functions listed (shift/click to select multiple items) in the Granted list box.
  5. Click the left arrow to move all functions to the Revoked list box.
  6. Repeat the Steps 2 - 5 for all user accounts with privileges for the department to be deleted.
  7. Click Close ☒ (to the right of the Departmental Function Privileges tab) to close the Departmental Function Privileges screen.

Remove the Department from the Daily Table

  1. Double-click on Daily Maintenance under the Administration topic. The Daily Maintenance screen displays.
  2. Click on the Expandarrow to expand the specific date.
  3. Click on the Expandarrow to expand the specific schedule.
  4. Click on the job.
  5. Click on the Edit Daily button. The Job Daily screen displays.
  6. Go to the Job Details frame.
  7. Select <General> or a different department name in the Department drop-down list.
  8. Click Save     icon Save on the Job Daily toolbar.
  9. Repeat Steps 3 - 8 for all jobs assigned to the department to be deleted.
  10. Click Close ☒ (to the right of the Job Daily tab) to close the Job Daily screen.

Remove the Department from the Master Tables

  1. Click on the Edit Master button. The Job Master screen displays.
  2. Select a schedule in the Schedule drop-down list.
  3. Select a job in the Job drop-down list.
  4. Go to the Job details frame.
  5. Select <General> or a different department name in the Department drop-down list.
  6. Click Save     icon Save on the Job Master toolbar.
  7. Repeat Steps 13 - 16 for all jobs assigned to the department to be deleted.
  8. Click Close ☒ (to the right of the Job Master tab) to close the Job Master screen.

Delete the Department

  1. Double-click on Departments under the Security topic. The Departments screen displays.
  2. Select the department in the Select a department drop-down list.
  3. Click Remove     iconRemove on the Departments toolbar.
  4. Click the Yes button to confirm the deletion or click the No button to cancel the deletion.
  5. Click Close ☒ (to the right of the Departments tab) to close the Departments screen. :::
