Copying Service Requests

Copying a Service Request duplicates all settings from the original and opens the copy in the Service Request editor, where you can rename it and modify any settings before saving. Use this approach when a new Service Request shares most of its configuration with an existing one.

You must have the Maintain Service Request function privilege and be in admin mode to see the copy controls.

Copy a Service Request

To copy a Service Request, complete the following steps:

  1. In Solution Manager, go to Self Service.

  2. Enable admin mode by selecting the admin mode toggle in the toolbar.

  3. On the Service Request button you want to copy, select the Copy button.

The Service Request editor opens with all fields populated from the original.

  4. In the Name field, enter a unique name for the copied Service Request (maximum 64 characters).

  5. (Optional) Modify any other fields as needed.

  6. Select Save.

Result: Solution Manager saves the new Service Request and returns you to the Self Service view, where the copy appears alongside the original.
