Managing Departments

The Departments editor in Enterprise Manager lets you create and maintain the departments used to organize jobs and control role-based access. Each department has a name and an optional documentation field.

Opening the Departments Editor

To open the Departments editor, complete the following steps:

  1. In Enterprise Manager, expand the Security topic in the navigation pane.
  2. Select Departments.

The Departments editor opens and displays the list of existing departments.

Departments Editor Fields

The editor contains the following fields:

NameThe department name. Maximum 20 characters. Required.
DocumentationOptional free-text notes about the department. Maximum 4,000 characters.

The Departments toolbar provides actions for managing departments.
